A big part of the reason I wanted to work on Ubuntu in the first place was because I wanted to learn to program. And Ruby being new and sexy and being recommended by several friends I figured I’d give it a try, oh yeah I am also dabbling with HTML and PHP. Basically I’m in way over my head.
Fortunately for me this is just *for fun* (I sometimes have to keep reminding myself of this). If I never become a master programmer, oh well. I largely do this for the mental stimulation.
I imagine at some point I’ll have to get serious and make a go at one of these but for now I enjoy tinkering. Unfortunately my unfamiliarity with Ubuntu and Linux in general hampers me from even doing simple things like getting Ruby installed. Actually I did that (woohoo) now I just can’t find it.
Oh well, onward and upward.
